The Interdisciplinary Doctorate Colloquium

The Interdisciplinary Doctorate Colloquium

Once a year alternating professors of TRUST invite postgraduate students to an interdisciplinary doctorate colloquium. Young scientists dealing with issues of spatial transformation but without a concrete dissertation plan are welcome to attend as well.

The objective of these annual colloquia is to train interdisciplinary skills. While presenting their own thesis topics, participants elucidate their methods and theories by explaining comprehensibly their usefulness for non-specialists. In addition, the exchange between PhD students will convey new and fruitful ideas to all participants.

Since 2014, subject-specific and more methodologically-oriented colloquia are alternating. During the summer semester 2014, the "Journal Club" took place for the first time. Conducted by Prof. Dr. Christiane Meyer, participants read, analysed and discussed academic articles together. In addition, Prof. Dr. Felix Müller, publisher and editor-in-chief of the magazine "Ecological Indicators", reported on the requirements for publication.
