The Herrenhausen Conference on November 27-29, 2017 is an interdisciplinary platform for developing risk reduction strategies for low-income communities threatened by natural hazards.
The conference will be held from November 27 to 29, 2017 in Hanover, Germany.
The call is directed towards PhD students or early Post Docs of all disciplines. The deadline for the call is March 31, 2017. Applicants can win one of 30 travel grants.
The conference is concerned with innovative inter- and transdisciplinary approaches towards environmental risk reduction in communities of limited economic capacities.
The steering committee is chaired by Christian Werthmann (Institute for Landscape Architecture) and consists of Ulrike Grote (Institute for Environmental Economics and World Trade) and Jörg Dietrich (Institute for Water Resources Management) as members of the TRUST Research Centre (Transdisciplinary Rural Development Studies) at the Leibniz University of Hannover, and Miho Mazereeuw (Director of Urban Risk Lab at MIT) and Claudio Acioly (Head of Capacity Building at UN-Habitat) as international partners.
